Glamox is a Norwegian industrial group that develops, manufactures, and distributes professional lighting solutions for the global market. With 1,300 employees across 16 countries and a growing production volume, the company operates in a complex international environment.
As the business expanded, so did the need for better coordination across markets, production and internal systems. To support this, Glamox chose to implement Infor LN.
To support future growth, Glamox initiated the “One Glamox” programme, aiming to bring both parent and subsidiary companies across 16 countries into a single ERP system.
Previously, operations were supported by multiple systems and local setups, making it difficult to ensure consistent processes and data across the organisation. By consolidating systems into one global ERP platform, the company aims to improve efficiency, simplify collaboration and establish a more unified way of working.
Glamox Group CFO Thomas Lindberg highlights the importance of this shift:
We operate in an area where quick and easy management of information internally, and between us and our clients, is extremely important. Collaboration with Glamox should be regarded as easy at all levels. An optimal well-functioning solution is therefore essential for our company.
Implementing an ERP system across multiple countries and business units is a complex process that requires both coordination and commitment.
Lindberg emphasises the scale of the effort:
It demands enormous effort and willingness to change from all employees. In addition to their own daily tasks they have to learn something completely new at the same time.
At the same time, the benefits of going through the process was obvious, and decision to move forward was clear:
We have had the same solution for approximately 20 years and it has worked well. Even so, we recognized the need to upgrade and meet the future.
According to Mazeppa, a key success factor in large ERP implementations is strong ownership from the customer.
It is a demanding process for a company to implement ERP systems, and the key to success is that the client takes full command and ownership of all tasks and processes. Glamox has done so from day one, says Aage Ramstad, Managing Director at Mazeppa.
By consolidating operations into a single ERP platform, Glamox is establishing a more connected and scalable system landscape. For manufacturing companies operating across multiple countries, a unified ERP platform is essential to ensure consistent processes, reliable data and efficient collaboration across the organisation.
